‘Sibirica’ is renowned for intense coral‑red stems that glow in low winter light—perfect for hedges that double as seasonal features. Summer brings fresh green foliage; autumn can deliver a flush of colour before the winter show. It’s a superb way to build year‑round interest without complicating maintenance, and it partners beautifully with yellow‑stemmed dogwoods for contrast. In mixed native hedges, it adds an ornamental punch that shines for months.
Plant bare‑root while dormant. Cut back hard in late winter to stimulate new, brightest stems for the following year. Happy on most soils, including heavy and damp sites, and excellent in wildlife‑friendly mixed hedges. Space 45–60 cm, mulch generously, and irrigate through dry spring weather in the establishment year to encourage vigorous new shoots.
