Summer brings fresh green foliage; autumn can deliver a flush of colour before the winter show. It’s a superb way to build year‑round interest without complicating maintenance, and it partners beautifully with yellow‑stemmed dogwoods for contrast. Plant bare‑root while dormant. Cut back hard in late winter to stimulate new, brightest stems for the following year.
